Asian Drug War Healing Circle

The Asian Drug War Healing Circle is an intergenerational space for Asians (East, West, South, Central, bicultural, diaspora) folks who identify as people who use drugs and/or love people who use drugs. Together, we hope to deepen our understanding of and heal from the War on Drugs and problematic drug use through political education, storytelling, and skills building. This is not an advocacy or a recovery space, but a space for healing, open and honest conversation, and community building.

The Asian American Drug War Healing Circle through the Center for Political Drug Education (CPDE) founded by Hsing Yi (Frances) Fu and Rhana Hashemi has been a safe space for Asian Americans to begin to unpack intergenerational layers of silence around drug use through political and drug education. This offering continues on at APC as the expanded Asian Drug War Healing Circle.

This is the fifth in a series of 5 events. The topic of this circle is "Bringing the Circle to Your Community”. In this circle, we will be reflecting on how these series can be brought to your own communities.

No one will be turned away from our events for a lack of funds. If tiered pricing is out of your budget, please contact us directly. And, if you have the means, please consider an additional donation to help us keep our programs running.

We are not able to offer refunds or exchanges for any of our events at this time. Thank you for understanding. This gathering/series/event is for educational purposes only. The Asian Psychedelic Collective does not encourage or condone any illegal activity, including taking psychedelics.

Book Club

Join us as we delve into books on psychedelics and extraordinary states of consciousness by Asian authors with facilitator Jasmine Virdi.

In this session, we will discuss the book “Trip: Psychedelics, Alienation and Change” by author Tao Lin. In this book, Tao explores parallels between McKenna's life and his own in a far-reaching search for answers to looming questions: Why do we make art? What is language for? And are there essential, universal truths out there, beyond our limited range of perception? Join our book club with Jasmine, as she guides conversation and rich discussion amongst the group.

In the spirit of deep connection, this donation-based event is specifically for Asians (East, West, South, Central, bicultural, diaspora) to come together in solidarity.

We've set the minimum donation at $1 but if you can donate the suggested amount of $25 that would be greatly appreciated. Please consider donating more, if you are able, to help us keep these programs running. Thank you for your support.
